Quad-Deck Estimating Guide Updated

The Quad-Deck Estimating Guide for standard reinforcing has been updated with re-calculated spans and an easier format. The span and reinforcing charts are now combined and a 4 inch slab and higher PSI concrete were added to the choices. The live load choices are now limited to those that are most typically used. New master sheets contain all relevant information for each panel thickness: spans, R-Value, concrete coverage, and overall floor weight.

ACI norms were used as the basis for calculation by a Professional Engineer. Please remember that a licensed engineer is still required for final structural and shoring engineering for each building but the most likely panel size and reinforcing for the initial estimating phase of a project can now be more accurately determined. A login or registration is required to download the updated Standard Estimating Guide.

Quad-Lock updated ICC-ES Evaluation Report

Quad-Lock's Insulating Concrete Forms recently received a new evaluation report from ICC-Evaluation Services, Inc., with a Florida Supplement. Building officials, architects, contractors, and others use ICC-ES Evaluation Reports to provide the guidelines and approvals for construction products under the main US building codes, the International Residential Code (IRC) and International Building Code (IBC).

"Quad-Lock Building Systems can now reference the evaluation report to ensure building officials and the building industry that the product meets I-Code requirements," explains ICC-ES President Mark Johnson. "Building departments have a long history of using evaluation reports, and ICC-ES operates as a technical resource for the building department. Final approval of building products is always in the hands of the local regulatory agency."

Douglas Bennion, Manager of Training & Technical Services adds, "Some notable advancements in this revision are the inclusion of 2009 and 2006 IBC and IRC and Types I through IV (Non-combustible) construction in addition to Type V (combustible) construction - important for commercial and other buildings, schools, churches, and more. We have identified 7 different EIFS coatings from different manufacturers that will supply the necessary coating to qualify as non-combustible."
